Question 1

Does OHSU sponsor H-1B visas?

Accepted Answer

Yes. OHSU has filed 3 H-1B Labor Condition Applications (LCAs) with the Department of Labor, covering 3 total positions. The median salary for OHSU's sponsored positions is $250,000.

Question 2

What H-1B salary does OHSU pay?

Accepted Answer

OHSU pays a median H-1B salary of $250,000 for sponsored positions. Employers are required to pay H-1B workers at least the prevailing wage set by the DOL for the occupation and area. The wage level distribution on this page shows how OHSU's positions break down across entry-level (Level I) through expert (Level IV) roles.

Question 3

Does OHSU also sponsor green cards?

Accepted Answer

Based on public DOL records, OHSU does not appear to have filed PERM labor certification applications for green card sponsorship.

Question 4

What do the H-1B wage levels mean?

Accepted Answer

The DOL assigns prevailing wages at four levels based on the complexity of the job and experience required. Level I (Entry) is set at the 17th percentile of wages for the occupation and area. Level II (Qualified) is at the 34th percentile. Level III (Experienced) is at the 50th percentile (median). Level IV (Expert) is at the 67th percentile. Higher wage levels indicate more senior positions and are viewed more favorably in H-1B petition adjudication.

Question 5

Is OHSU an H-1B dependent employer?

Accepted Answer

No, OHSU is not classified as an H-1B dependent employer. An employer is considered H-1B dependent when 15% or more of its workforce holds H-1B visas.
